IMPORTANT NOTICE:  AN ADJUSTMENT TO ECFIBER SERVICES AND  FEES

Dear ECFiber Subscribers:

ECFiber has changed the configuration of our subscriber fees and services to improve  our services.  Customers who have already been connected or who have subscribed prior to January, 14, 2013 will see no change in their billing except for a reduction of $2/month for customers who have an ECFiber-provided router.  All other charges will continue to be billed under ECFiber’s original terms and conditions. Customers who currently have an ECFiber router will see this $2 reduction beginning with their February 1, 2013 ECFiber bill.

Why are we changing our fees and services?

Maintaining consistently high quality service and customer support is a commitment we make to our customers. Properly functioning routers are essential for assuring high-quality performance of ECFiber services.  We have concluded that providing a consistently high level of service requires that we be responsible for router performance – but we can only do that for routers that we supply.  For this reason, for all new locations that subscribe after January 14, 2013, we will be including wireless routers and associated technical support and maintenance, as standard in all installations. That cost is now bundled into our standard fee schedule for all service levels.

Effective January 14, 2013,  subscribers with customer-owned routers will be subject to a $60 per hour service charge if ECFiber staff is required to trouble-shoot problems associated with a customer-owned router. with a minimum half-hour charge.  This fee will be doubled on weekends or after 6:30 pm.  Customers who wish to avoid exposure to such service charges are welcome to change their current subscription to include an ECFiber wireless router under our new rate structure. Customers who have their own wireless network can request that ECFiber turn off our wireless router, but there will be no change in our monthly service fee structure.  These customers will be responsible for all maintenance and repair of their own wireless network(s).  ECFiber’s maintenance responsibility extends only to the termination point of our equipment.
